This site is a random collection of documents

photographs

etc. relating to everyday life in Imperial Russia and the USSR. It is not very clearly organized

but one can begin browsing by using the categories on the left and right of the page

or by scrolling down and exploring the categories at the bottom. Clicking one of the categories on the right/left navigates to a page where there are a few broad categories (like fashion

postcards

humor

etc.) and one can browse those. Poking around on the site is both fascinating and can be very rewarding

though one has to be careful not to give up too quickly if something seems useless--the site's organization means that useful and useless material nests side by side. It is noteworthy that not all items that are available for download are easily downloadable

and some of the links are not functional. The site's collection of journals (http://amnesia.pavelbers.com/the%20old%20newspapers.htm) is actually quite good and includes a number of late Soviet magazines.
